Danube’s lowest ever water level recorded

The water level along the Hungarian stretch of the Danube river is at a record low, the National Water Management (OVF) announced on Tuesday.

The water level was measured as 49 centimetres in Budapest at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning, two centimetres lower than previously gauged on November 6, 1947, the OVF wrote. This is due to the unusually dry weather in Hungary since August.
