GVH inquires into jeweller’s sales

The Competition Office (GVH) has launched a proceeding against Emporia Style, a company that sold jewellery via a television show.

The GVH suspects that the company’s selling methods violated regulations on fair commercial practice.

In the proceedings, the GVH will look into whether Emporia offered the jewellery at the price it claimed was the original prior to offering discounts.

The competition watchdog will investigate whether the products advertised possess all features claimed.

The company claimed that one of its products had the blessings of the Pope. Emporia also claimed that its products were available in limited numbers and for a limited time.
