Prince Andrew coming next week

Britain’s Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, will meet President János Áder, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó when he arrives in Budapest on an official visit on September 10, it was announced yesterday.

His schedule is dominated by events related to education, science, technology and engineering.

Prince Andrew will open a conference hosted by the Chamber of Hungarian Engineers marking the 200th anniversary of the foundation of Britain’s Institute of Civil Engineers, of which he is a patron.

He will then open a workshop conference on “Social Value and Responsibility in the Public Sphere” organised by the National Public Service University and the University of Birmingham.

Prince Andrew will also visit Hungary’s first integrated gym, Suhanj Fitness in Budapest, where physically disabled and able-bodied athletes can work out together.

As a closing act to his visit, the prince will attend the first Hungarian final of the Pitch@Palace international startup competition, founded by him in 2014.

Prince Andrew previously paid an official visit to Hungary in 2005.
