Airport terminal evacuated

Terminal 2A of Liszt Ferenc International Airport was evacuated on Monday morning as authorities became alarmed when a man of apparently Arab origin began behaving erratically.

He rushed into the terminal shortly before 10 a.m., put his bag down and moved away from it.

Police then evacuated the terminal until bomb disposal exerts could examine the baggage. They found nothing dangerous.

As police checked the man’s identity documents, they found that he is wanted on charges of disorderly conduct and possession of illegal drugs.

After airport health care staff examined him he was taken to hospital for a psychiatric examination.

Initial reports said the terminal had been evacuated because the man was praying.
