Metro union may scrap wage contract

Retail workers union KASZ on Tuesday threatened to cancel the wage agreement signed with cash and carry chain Metro unless wages are increased.

The union said it is looking into the legal possibilities of such a move.

KASZ rejected the retailer’s latest wage hike proposal presented on June 12.

The union says 82% of employees are ready to participate in protest actions.

The union does not want to accept that wages will not be increased before January 1. According to its survey, 21% of Metro employees will leave if their wages are not raised soon and 33% are considering their options.
