Dog accessories maker expands

Julius-K9, a dog accessories manufacturer, has started to hire some 200 staff at its new production site in Tiszafüred, Szolnok county, to expand production, the company said.

It has received Ft 60 million in support from state authorities for raising the production of dog harnesses, collars and gears.

The company, which is in Hungarian ownership and employs 300 people at present, said that it had developed the first dog harness in the world with a flexible chest strap, providing great comfort for the dog while lessening the strain on the owner’s arm.

The new plant will also serve as a logistics base for products heading to the US and China. The company’s net revenue exceeded Ft 4.5 billion last year.
