New lifts planned on M3 line

Meosz, the association of the physically disabled, considers it acceptable that sloping or vertical lifts be installed at six stations on the M3 metro line, the group said after talks with City Hall officials on Tuesday.

City and Meosz officials held talks last week on possible ways of providing access for the physically handicapped at those stations where normal lifts cannot be built.

Such lifts are expected to be built at the Kálvin tér, Corvin, Nyugati, Arany János utca, Ferenciek tere and Klinikák stations.

An M3 official indicated that he would obtain technical data for such lifts from seven manufacturers before the next meeting with Meosz.
