Population keeps shrinking



Hungary’s population continued to shrink in the first 10 months of this year, the Central Statistics Office reported on Thursday.

From January to October, 1.2% fewer babies were born than in the same period of last year. The number of deaths, meanwhile, rose by 4.9% over the same period.

The number of Hungarians dropped by 32,798 in the period, at a faster rate than in the same period of last year, which saw a decline of 26,803 people.
