Two Index journalists banned from Parliament

Two staff members of Index, Ferenc Bakró-Nagy and Tamás Fábián, were banned from Parliament and its office building until the end of the autumn session on Tuesday as they had repeatedly violated regulations, Parliament’s press chief Szilágyi Zoltán told Index.

The two journalists conducted an interview with Prosecutor General Péter Polt in Parliament last week. They posed questions to Polt in the circular corridor of the Dome hall, where it is banned to shoot films, according to parliamentary regulations.

Parliament’s press department is still investigating another case. Petra László, the camerawoman who gained notoriety for kicking migrants at the Röszke border station two years ago, on Monday used obscene language to Jobbik MP György Szilágyi while on assignment in Parliament as a camerawoman for Pesti Srácok.
