Áder sends condolences to Trump

President János Áder on Wednesday sent his condolences to US President Donald Trump over the New York act of terror, in which eight people died on Tuesday.

Áder, on behalf of the Hungarian people, said that he had heard the news with shock and expressed his condolences to the family and friends of the dead. Hungarians share their grief and wish the injured speedy recovery, he wrote.

On Tuesday, a small van drove on to a cyclist path in the south-western part of Manhattan, running over several people and colliding with a school bus. Eight people died and 11 others sustained injuries. Five Argentine citizens and one Belgian died.

The Foreign Ministry was unaware of any Hungarian dead or injured.
