Gov’t looks to attract Ukrainian labour

The government spent Ft 180 million last year on a campaign in Ukraine to attract skilled labour to Hungary in professions where there is a domestic shortage of supply, according to the 2016 budget settlement act.

The government has earmarked an even larger amount of Ft 450 million for this purpose in 2017, which has partially been used.

The government accepted a recommendation from the industrialists association Mgyosz last year to attract “culturally absorbable” skilled labour from abroad.
