Erste unveils paperless branches

Erste bank will open new forms of branches suitable for the digital era, deputy CEO László Harmati announced on Wednesday.

He addressed reporters in a transformed branch in Budapest’s 11th District, where the pilot project will start on Monday.

The branch will be open around the clock with traditional desks replaced by self-service terminals and ATMs.

Clients will be given personal advice as they require it on borrowing and private banking services.

The new, paperless branch model will be adjusted to the needs of Hungarian clients.

Erste already operates similar branches in Austria, the Czech Republic and Romania.

Erste will transform its entire branch network in Hungary next year, based on feedback from users of pilot branches.
