Hungarian Grand Prix set for July 19

This year’s Hungarian Formula One world championship race will be held on July 19 without fans, organisers announced on Tuesday.

The race at the Hungaroring is one of eight announced so far, with more to follow. Four scheduled races have been cancelled due to Covid-19 pandemic concerns.

President Zsolt Gyulay of local organiser Hungaroring Sport said the company was flexible in all respects, since the track is ready, races can be staged at any time and they wanted to hold the 35th Hungarian Grand Prix if at all possible.

He said epidemiological regulations will be borne in mind, as he confirmed that the race will be held behind closed doors.
