50,000 Hungarians hope to stay in UK

The number of foreign EU citizens applying for long-term residence permits in Great Britain has reached two million, according to data released by the British Home Office on Wednesday.

Nearly 54,000 Hungarians have applied for such permits.

The British cabinet has decided that those foreign EU citizens who live in the United Kingdom legally may stay in the country after Brexit and will retain their present rights, but must apply to the Home Office for a residence permit of an undetermined duration.
