New restaurant to employ physically disabled

A restaurant employing physically disabled people opened on Wednesday in the building which houses Budapest’s 12th District local council.

Social affairs state secretary Attila Fülöp said at the restaurant’s opening ceremony that it is important that every physically disabled person live life to the fullest according to their abilities, and that they feel they can perform valuable work. He said it is the government’s goal to make sure that as many people with disabilities as possible can find employment.

12th District mayor Zoltán Pokorni said his district (Hegyvidék) is an open and receptive one, which is why they supported the opening of the restaurant at the mayor’s office.

The property was made available to the Kék Madár Alapítvány (Blue Bird Foundation) by the local council.
