Széles plans Ft 77bn golf investment

Entrepreneur Gábor Széles is planning a large-scale tourism investment at the Zala Springs Golf Resort, Hungary’s largest 18-hole golf course.

Széles is planning to invest Ft 77 billion in the area in the coming years, in part to build a five-star hotel, a wellness centre and an artificial thermal lake on a 160-hectare site. This would be one of the largest tourism investments in all of Central and Eastern Europe, Napi reports.

The Zala Springs Golf Resort opened in 2015 in Zalacsány, a small town in Zala county close to Hévíz and Lake Balaton.

The complex has become a popular destination for foreign golf lovers with its premium apartments.

Széles invested Ft 9 billion in the project from his own resources.

The investor is Hungary’s sixth richest person with an estimated wealth of Ft 142 billion.
