Hungarians win prizes at film fest

Hungarian Yvan Tamás Topolánszky’s Curtiz won the main prize at the Montreal Film Festival Monday night, while Attila Szász was voted best director for his movie “Örök tél” (Eternal Winter).

Curtiz is about Mihály Kertész, director of the Hollywood classic Casablanca and the first Hungarian to be awarded a Best Director Oscar.

Eternal Winter is about women who were taken by Soviet forces as forced labour in Ukraine in 1944.
