Lidl to stop selling one-off plastics

The 169 Lidl outlets in Hungary will stop selling single-use plastic products by the end of 2019, the discount retail chain has announced.

From that date, Lidl will no longer sell plastic straws, cups, plates or cutlery.

In addition, ready-made food products will not come with plastic cutlery.

The Schwarz group, the owner of Lidl and Kaufland, has embarked on a plastic reduction strategy.
