Wizz Air expanding at Debrecen airport

CEO József Váradi announced yesterday that discount airline Wizz Air will launch seven new flights from Debrecen and will maintain a second Airbus A320 aircraft at its local base from December.

The airline will fly new routes from mid-December to Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca, Basel, Doncaster/Sheffield, Dortmund, Larnaca, and Malta.

It will also increase flights to popular destinations, such as Tel Aviv and Paris Beauvais, adding a total of 16 departures to its 2019 schedule.

The announcement brings Wizz’s overall investment in its Debrecen base to more than $200 million and in 2019 the airline will offer almost 600,000 seats from Debrecen on 14 routes to 11 countries.
