TV station advocates assassination

An employee of N1TV, a television channel linked to Jobbik, posted a picture on its Facebook page, encouraging people to assassinate the prime minister.

The posts reads: “In 1672 a group of angry Dutchmen killed and ate the prime minister. I am only saying this is an option.”

Earlier reports have said that Jobbik finances the station through its foundations, Magyar Idők notes.

N1TV editor-in-chief Szabolcs Kisberk issued an apology later Wednesday, saying: “Today an external staff member of N1TV posted something on our Facebook page without checking, which we immediately removed as soon as we spotted it. We distance ourselves from the content of the post, and we apologise to our viewers and followers.”
