MOL-Limo car sharing to start in 2018



MOL will launch its car sharing service MOL-Limo next year, the energy companys consumer service director Pter Ratatics told Index on Wednesday.

MOL-Limo will start to offer its services with a fleet of 300 Volkswagen Up cars in Budapest, of which 100 will be electric cars. The fleet, which will be expanded with 100 cars annually, is planned to become fully electric by 2021.

Users will have 20 minutes to approach the car after making a reservation on a mobile application. The usage fee will be Ft 66 a minute and the waiting fee is planned at Ft 15 per minute. A monthly Ft 990 membership fee will also be charged. MOL has not set the registration fee yet.

Competitor electric car sharing provider Greengo costs Ft 65 a minute. It charges a Ft 5,900 registration and a monthly Ft 990 membership fee.

MOL expects to make a profit on the business from the second or third year onward.
