Wizz Air gains slots at Luton

Hungary’s Wizz Air has acquired take-off and landing slots at London Luton Airport, following the collapse of Monarch airlines, it was announced yesterday.

As a result, Wizz will base two additional aircraft in Luton, alongside the present five.

The airline expects to announce new flights to and from Luton at a later date.

Its capacity at Luton will rise by 18% next year to 7.1 million seats.
