Company convicted of fraud receives state funds

Gynaecologist Attila Vereczkey, who was fined last year for fraud and forgery of documents, received Ft 130 million in state funds, 444 reported on Thursday.

He is said to have aggrieved 88 patients by requesting cash for medical interventions funded by the National Health Care Fund OEP.

He was reprimanded by the Chamber of Hungarian Physicians twice and owes tens of millions of forints to the National Customs and Tax Office.

The National Research, Development and Innovation Office nevertheless awarded Ft 130 million to the company run by Vereczkey, Human Reprodukciós Intézet.
