Debrecen Airport braces for strong year

Debrecen Airport registered 27,110 passengers last month, a largest-ever figure for the month of October, representing a 44% annual increase.

Hungary’s second largest airport expects traffic to rise to 310,000 this year, up from 284,000 in 2016. Capacity will increase with the launch of new flights to Russia.

Wizz Air announced the launch of two weekly flights to Moscow from December 18, which will increase the number of destinations available from the eastern Hungarian city to eight.

This will be the only direct service from Hungary to the Russian capital.
