Koeman gets the axe

National football team manager Erwin Koeman is leaving, after the Football Association severed his contract in favour of employing Sándor Egervári, Nemzeti Sport reported on Thursday. An official announcement is expected today.
Egervári coached the under-20 team to a bronze medal in the World Cup last year.
Koeman took over in May 2008 and achieved some good results, but Hungary has won only one of its last eight games.
